Post #4, The perfect shot pgs. 235-330 (Hint read my first 3 posts to understand this one)
I have really liked this book, the story has built and built over the time I've read it. It has just been really exciting.
Brian has been working hard on his book project for a long time now. He finally presents it for a grade. He is nervous, but everything goes well, until the end. Julius get pointed out by another student for being arrested. That led to Julius getting in a fight with the student and getting suspended.
After a game with out Julius, comes the biggest game of the year. They are facing Jackson High Generals. This team are their biggest rival in the state and if they win, they will go to the state championship. The team is not looking good at all, Julius is hogging the ball and the team is seeming to forget how to score. But at half time Brian talks with the team and shows them why there is a 25 point deficet and how far they have come and they can't be beaten now. Brian's team comes out in the second half like they could beat the New York Nicks. Brian is the captain and he is showing the team the right way to play. All this time Brian's team have been fighting hard to catch up with the generals. Now it is 88-87 generals, Julius slaps the ball away and passes it down court gets to Brian, then Julius, looks like he will take the shot, but he passes it to an open player named shooter. He goes up, takes the shot as the buzzer rings, the gym is silent... SWOOSH!!! Is the bueatiful sound of the net contacting the ball.
The game has gotten the whole town filled with joy on the 90-88 win, every house on the block is lit up and cheering when Brian arrives home.

Post #3- 50-235 in the perfect shot (All my blogs are pretty much spoilers)
This book is very interesting, I've never read a book that is a sports book, but equally a mystery . I feel bad for the main character Brian because so many bad things have happen to him throughout this book. I just seemed to find out that this book might be in a time period of 40-50 years ago because of the rascism, but that is just a theory.
Brian's basketball team is one of the best high school team's in the state at 22-2. That is what Brian wants to focus on, basketball, not the murder of his girlfriend Amanda and her family. Mr. Daine, the dad of Amanda's family is accused of the three murders. Amanda's mom, brother and her. The case is almost closed and it looks like Mr. Daine (a former cop) will be officially convited of murder. But Brian has a feeling that it is not Mr. Daine, it is the jogger in the gray sweatsuit, but he is the only one who saw the jogger.
Like Brian doesn't have enough to deal with, his best friend Julius is arrested. But Julius took a wrong turn off the highway after dropping off his parents at the airport into a rich, white upper class neighborhood. It may seem unfair but, he is arrested for being a black kid in the wrong place at the wrong time. Brian goes to bail him out, but his father doesn't want him to get stuck in this mess. Julius does get out of jail after one night, but it was an ordeal nobody wants to revisit.
(If you want more backround or knowledge of this book I would suggest reading my first 2 posts.)

Post #2 for the perfect shot pgs. 70-150.
I am liking how this book is a greats sports story, yet it it even deeper than that, it is a mystery. These are my two favorite genres of books, so I am really starting to like this story.
Brian is hung up on the idea that he thinks Amanda's murder is completely his fault, because he wanted to hang out with his teamates that particular day, instead of Amanda. Now he can't stop thinking that he is a horrible person for doing that. Amanda's father, Officer Daine is still on trial for being accused of murdering the whole family. But Brian does not believe that one bit. Since gray fibers were on the crime scene, he has a theory that it might be a jogger wearing a gray jogging suit, with his/her face covered up by a hood. Although, this theory is a far off guess because so many joggers come by that area in just a matter of hours.
Baketball is really starting to heat up for Brian's team though, they are on a great run, winning a majority of thier games. It will be extremely difficult, but his team is Championship material. This is a thrilling book!!!!!!!!! There is still so much to be answered.

70 pages through the "Perfect Shot" by Elaine Marie Alphin.
This book has been a book that has gotten my heart pounding. I am not quite sure what to think of it yet, but once I start reading it, it sure is hard to put down. The story starts out the way that it would be in everybody's nightmares. The main character, Brain's girlfriend Amanda and her little brother Cory here a loud clapping noise while Amanda is babysitting Cory in his room. Then a second one, and a third, but Amanda does not hear the third one. Because that sound is a gun shot.
Brian, 7 months later is still haunted by that horrible night last August when Amanda and Cory got murdered. But a few days later Brian is assigned a book project involving an accused Jewish murderer named Leo Frank, but he did not comit that murder. But nobody in the city believed him so the people came after him and took the law into their own hands. Meanwhile Amanda's father, the only one in the family who didn't murdered, has been accused of killing his own family. That is even though he is a cop.
I am excited to see where this story goes!
Thanks for the comments, the title is a play on words because of the gunshots, but it also is a reference of how Brian wants to wants to be the best player on the team, along with his team mate and friend Julius. Brian also wants to be the best player he can and being able to make a "perfect shot" so he can get a basketball scholarship in college. I will always respond to any comments about my summary, so come on the next day : )
